Estranged parents shamanic healing retreat
I’m looking for 12 people to join me on a journey of healing. This week-long shamanic retreat is for parents estranged from their adult children. Connect with others who know your experience; listen and be heard. Through powerful, alternative healing practices, we will work to transform our grief into power. This retreat offers a supportive community and transformative rituals to help you process and begin to heal from the grief and heartbreak.
The Retreat Experience:
This retreat is designed to guide us through deep healing, surrounded by others who understand the unique issues of estrangement. Silent mornings allow time to reflect and process dreams, setting a calm tone for the day. We will engage as a group and individual shamanic practices, including breathwork, sound ceremonies, fire and nature-based rituals, all aimed at releasing blockages to healing. Every day will have simple art activities help you ground your experiences—no art skills needed. Most days will end with a fire ceremony or a drum/music ceremony.
Itinerary
- Road trip together from the airport to our sacred healing space.
- Sit in circle and share your story. Consider and set your intent for our time together.
- Settle into your tent sanctuary and explore the peaceful grounds
- Journaling and artwork to capture the first day’s insights
- Evening meditation to open/awaken the dreaming body
- Enter the Temazcal, “The Mother of all Medicines” – a profound healing experience that takes you back to life’s source to uncover and begin healing the root causes of your pain
- Work with the Medicine Wheel, a sacred ritual that balances all aspects of your being and serves as your anchor for the spiritual healing ahead
- Journaling and artwork to integrate these powerful experiences
- Drum/Music Circle to express the new self
- Breathwork session to sense your energy body and identify blocks to your healing
- Another level with the Medicine Wheel – Channeling the energies
- Journaling and artwork to ground the learnings
- Sacred sound ceremony to connect with your personal healing guide
- Stones hold memories. Work with Stone to access memories and understand any past-life influences on your estrangement
- Work with the loving energy of trees to heal these past-life influences

What makes this retreat special
You’ll be surrounded by others who truly understand the feelings of estrangement – people who know the suffering, the constant wondering, and the what it means to grieve for someone who is still alive. This shared understanding creates an immediate sense of belonging and safety. To the degree that any of the group heals, we are all healed. To the degree that we as a group heal, we heal all estranged parents.
Complete digital detox creates sacred space for deep healing – we’ll safely store your cell so you can fully disconnect from social media, news, and daily distractions so you can be fully present for the experience. We will give you a contact before the retreat to give your family/friends to reach you in an emergency.

- Grassy grounds with shade trees for the tent sanctuary (bring your own tent and sleeping supplies or choose EZ camp upgrade)
- All nourishing, healing meals from arrival to departure

- Transportation as a group from Queretaro Airport (or agreed upon hotel) to our exclusive retreat sanctuary and back when the retreat is complete

For those who prefer not to bring camping gear, we offer a Tent & Bedding Package that includes:
- Quality tent already setup in a shaded spot
- Comfortable air mattress and cozy sleeping bag
- Setup and takedown service so you can focus purely on your healing
This optional upgrade can be added up to one month before the retreat.

First you will meet with me privately to discuss your specific situation and expectations. Then there will be two online groups you participate in. One you join as soon as you sign up and begin to get to know the others you will be with. We meet monthly for you to share your experience with the practice and I will give you a new practice you do at home to prepare for our time together. The other group will be exclusively for logistics, planning and questions regarding the retreat.
You will receive three months subscription to “Sacred Healing Practice” ($75 value). Meet monthly online with other estranged parents to share your progress with the teachings. After each meeting there will be a video with a new practice for the month.
Travel insurance (recommended for international travel). Visa fees if required for Mexico entry. Air travel. Health insurance. Flight costs. Hotel before or after the retreat. Pre and Post-retreat travel arrangements other than the group transport to the Airport (we’re happy to assist with this if desired).
Three wholesome meals daily, prepared with love. Vegetarian and vegan options readily available. We can accommodate most dietary requirements – simply let us know your needs when booking.
Safety Notes
You should not attend this retreat if:
You are taking medication for or have been diagnosed with any serious neurosis or psychosis. Also, you need to be able to listen and be present when others are sharing.
You should not participate in the Temazcal if:
You have a heart condition, high blood pressure, claustrophobia, asthma, epilepsy, or other serious health issues. (It’s an enclosed, small space, sort of a ritual in a natural steam room).
If you need to opt out of the Temazcal, alternative practices can be given for you or the time can be yours to relax if you wish. Please disclose any prescription medications you’re taking.
Other Notes
Alcohol and recreational drugs are strictly prohibited during the retreat.
This retreat takes place on a ranch in Mexico. Risks are present; we are not responsible for any sickness or injury you may experience during the retreat. Mexico in general is not wheelchair friendly—please contact us if you have mobility needs.
You will be given a contact email to share with family/friends so they can send emergency messages to you.
Please arrange travel and medical insurance and inform us of any important medical conditions or medications before arriving.

Facilitators
Steven Kenyon
A closet Shaman for most of his life, he focused on using the teachings to help shape life the way he wanted it; mostly focused on business success, performance and healing. But a day came, when his daughter no longer wanted to be in his life, that he found himself damaged in a different way. He found many tools didn’t work the same with this level of pain. This retreat is filled with the tools that made a difference.
Yei Malinalli
A Mexhica dancer, Sun dancer, Toltec Visionary and Temazcal leader. He received the ‘Don del Agua’ (official recognition and permission of the culture) from the well respected Abuela (Grandmother) Margarita. For more than 20 years Yei has taught the Mexhica culture, the Mayan and Nahuatl languages and time systems, the traditional dances as well as the Temazcales.
Yei Cuautli
A psychotherapist specialized in Family Constellations, Tanatodinamia and is certified in Therapeutic Temazcal. Since 2021, she has been organizing the Moon Dance, which takes place between October and November at Eco Aldea Tonanzin. The Moon Dance is a magnificent ceremony in which women participate with the purpose of celebrating their femininity, healing, and reclaiming their power.
